Q: Who are the camp staff members?
A: Camp is led
by Aaron Soriero, owner of Music Matters Inc. in Roswell.
Instructors are highly skilled and experienced musicians
from the Atlanta Institute of Music.
Q: Are camp staff members screened?
A: Yes, all staff
members and musical instructors must pass a background
check before being hired for camp.
Q: How are students grouped into
bands while at camp?
A: Campers are
grouped according to the age, skill level and instrument
played.
Q: Do I need to bring my own instrument
to camp?
A: Yes, however
all drums, keyboards and amps will be provided.
Q: What is a typical day like
at camp?
A: Campers are
dropped off between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. The morning
session of camp begins at 9:00 am and consists of
activities focusing on improving students’ individual
musical skills. After lunch, students spend the afternoon
with their band members rehearsing for their Friday
Night Finale Performance. Pick up is at 3:00 pm.
Q: Do I need to be proficient
with my instrument?
A: No! We welcome
all levels of musicians, from beginner to advanced.
In order for the camper to get the most out of camp,
we do ask that the he or she have about 3 months experience
playing their respective instrument.
Q: Do I need experience playing
in a band to register for camp?
A: No! Our goal
at camp is to give each participant the experience
of playing in a band, regardless if they have done
it before, or if this is their very first time.
Q: I am already in a band, can
we all attend camp together?
A: Absolutely!
We encourage both individual musicians as well as
entire bands to register for camp.
Q: What is included in the registration
fee?
A: The fee includes
all instruction, activities, band rehearsal, the Friday
Night Finale Performance, and camp t-shirt.
Q: How do I register for camp?
A: You can register
online here, or call us
directly at 770-650-6550 or register in person at
any Music Matters.
Q: Are campers supervised at all
times?
A: Yes. Camp participants
are supervised by staff and instructors at all times,
including during drop off in the morning and pick
up at the end of the day.
Q: Can I sign up for more than
1 session?
A: Absolutely!
We find that returning for an additional session makes
a huge difference in skill level, confidence and stage
presence.
Q: I have a question about camp,
who do I contact?
A: Please email
info@musicmatters101.com.
We are happy to answer any questions you have.
