Be heard! Perform live and be discovered at North Fulton Rock Wars.

Music Matters, in partnership with Roswell, Milton and Chattahoochee High Schools, present Rock Wars- a battle of the bands competition featuring talented, local musicians.

Rock Wars will showcase each band using intelligent lighting and sound, courtesy of Music Matters Productions. Winners will be selected by a panel of industry experts, “American Idol” style. One winner from each qualifying competition will perform a four song set at the Rock Wars Final Friday, May 14, 2010, hosted by Chattahoochee High School. The grand prize winner will receive a professional recording package in the Atlanta area.

Music education is vitally important to the success of every student. Proceeds from Rock Wars will be donated to each host school by Music Matters in Schools, Inc.

Tickets for qualifying competitions are $7, cash only, and can be purchased at any Music Matters store or through the Band Department at each high school. The Rock Wars Finale will be free of charge to all who wish to attend. Limited seats will be available and provided on a first come first serve basis.

Band Registration

All bands interested in competing should sign-up at any Music Matters store location. Band members should be between 14 and 18 years of age (exceptions may apply). Band members do not have to attend the host schools. Each band will perform two songs during the qualifying rounds. Original songs are encouraged, covers are accepted. All submissions must be received by April 1st, 2010.

Music Matters in Schools, Inc. is organized exclusively for charitable purposes towards the public benefit through the advancement of education, literacy or science. The purpose of this nonprofit corporation is “to support the sustainability and growth of music education in public school by providing direct educational, technical, and financial assistance to public school music education in locales determined by the nonprofit.”
